Lorene Fischer Obituary
Lansing
Lorene Fischer, 94, passed away December 1, 2014. She was born August 18, 1920 to Marvin and Sylvia (Hardman) Lloyd in Akron, Ohio. Lorene moved to Michigan in 1941. She married Walter H. Fischer and together they raised 4 sons. Lorene retired from the State of Michigan Department of Transportation in 1982. She alternated living in Michigan for 6 months, and 6 months in Florida. Lorene loved to travel, and do crafts and painting. She kept active as a hospice volunteer, and as a member of many organizations, including the Moose, the Elks, the Eagles, the Red Hat Society, the 39'ers Club, and was a 60 year member of the D.A.R.
Lorene was preceded in death by her husband in 1978 and one grandchild, Michael H. Fischer. Surviving to cherish her memory are sons, James (Donna) Fischer of Apollo Beach, Florida, William (Karin) Fischer of Wixom, Michigan, David (Colleen) Fischer of Portland, Michigan, Raymond (Robyn) Fischer of Portland, Oregon; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren; and niece, Jackie (Ted) Denison of The Villages, Florida.
Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, December 8, 2014 from 4-8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Those desiring may make memorial donations in Lorene's honor to Hospice of Lansing, 4052 Legacy Pkwy Suite 200, Lansing, MI 48911.
The family is being served by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.grlansing.com.
