Ronald Karvas Obituary

Ronald Eugene Karvas LUBBOCK-Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Ron Karvas this evening, from 6 to 8 p.m. in Lake Ridge Chapel, 6025 82nd Street. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, in Lake Ridge Chapel. Our beloved Ron died suddenly on Aug. 18, 2014. To view tributes and share a thought or memory visit www.memorialdesigners.net. Ron was born on May 6, 1941, to the late Frank and Mary (Simmons) Karvas in Littlefield, TX. The Karvases are of Czechoslovakian descent and heritage. He went to school and played football and basketball for the Anton School District. From an early age, Ron helped farm his family land in the Anton community and continued to farm throughout his life. He also spent time in his younger life training quarter horses. An avid outdoorsman and hunter, one of Ron's greatest joys in life was spending time with his family, children, and grandchildren to teach them the love and respect for wildlife and the wilderness. Ron's deepest joy, however, were his children. He showed each of them, as often as he could, that he loved and was proud of them. He cherished his family and spent his life selflessly loving and giving to them. Ron had a special bond with his only sibling, brother and best friend Frankie Karvas. Ron was blessed with the joy of spending the last three years of his life with his loving soul mate and hunting partner, Cynthia. Ron was the owner of Quality Exteriors. He began his company in 1986 and has since had the joy of teaching his sons the trade and becoming business partners with them. He was also a member of the West Texas Homebuilders Association. Those left to cherish his memory are his fianc e, Cynthia Meadows of Lubbock; six children, Kerry Karvas and wife Zhanna of Katy, Karla Karvas-McKinley and husband Mark of Dallas, Kelli Karvas-Maguire and husband Chris of Dallas, Kyle Karvas and wife Tira of Lubbock, David Karvas of Lubbock and Janci Karvas of Costa Mesa, CA; twelve grandchildren, Kourtney, Katelyn, Layla and Kloe Karvas, Key, Madison and Charlie McKinley, Lauren and Melanie Maguire, Aiden and Kason Karvas and Knox Karvas; and a brother, Frankie Karvas and wife Brenda of Anton and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials are suggested to the Texas Parks and Wildlife at http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us.
