Lt. Leroy Moldenhauer was one of Roseville's finest and mentored many officers over the years myself included. Leroy cared not only for the officers under his command but also for the city that he served with honor. May Leroy rest in peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I couldn't believe the news that my mom shared with me that Leroy had passed away. He just seemed so invincible! I am so sorry for your loss, Carol, Lisa, Lori, Billy and the entire Moldenhauer family. I spent my entire childhood hanging out with you all & those memories will forever be in my heart. What stories can I possibly tell to your grandchildren which will truly reflect what an awesome man there grandfather was? Marine, police officer and farmer would be the three "career" paths which shows your honor and courage. Stories about your frugality will abound I am sure. I most want to express to them that you truly taught us family values are not always words spoken but also actions seen. I love you so much daddy...You were my rock through many troubling times and also my friend. I will make it through this time because you taught me to be strong but I will shed lots of tears for our family's loss. Look out for us in heaven until we meet again.

Leroy,we can't believe what we read in Friday's paper itsn just not fair that you are gone from all of us . Carol called us this evening & told us what you went through and Wednesday , we are so sorry that you went through all that pain . You welcomed us into you home & heart, Leroy when I would and Carol wasnt home and we would talk on the phone about all kinds of things it meant so much to me and I will never forget those conversations. Also last year at the RSPD X-mas party and you sat with Steve & myself we were proud to have you with us, and we could tell you we hurting then ,but nothing like you were after that night. We will not forget the dinners we had at your place and in MIO also the fishing in your back yard . Yes you are one of a kind and wonderful man that will be missed by many. Rest in Peace Leroy. You will always be in out thoughts & prayers . Love Steve & Tina

Dad I will never have the courage to stand up at your eulogy and say all the things I should have said before. I will miss you more than you will ever know. Standing there watching all of our family and friends that came to say goodbye to you in the last hours of your life makes me realize how truly blessed we were to have you as our dad. You touched so many people. You made life fun and interesting. I am sorry that i didn't visit or call more. I am sorry we never knew how sick you were or how much pain you must have been in. I will try to find peace in knowing that you were greeted by so many loved ones that went before you and in knowing someday I will be with you again. Words can never tell you how much I love you and miss you. Love - Lori
