David E. Weil

1934 - 2011

David E. Weil, age 76, of St. Clair Shores, passed away on October 22, 2011 in Naples, Florida in the arms of his loving family. He was born on November 21, 1934 to Earl J. Weil and Jean Smart. David touched the hearts of those who knew him. He was a very kind and caring individual and well known for his sense of humor. He began working with his father at the tender age of 10 in the family owned Earl J. & Son Plumbing business in St, Clair Shores. Later in life he became Building & Zoning Official with the Charter Township of Superior in Ypsilanti, Mich. He retired in 1999 and moved to Naples, Florida. David was past President of St. Clair Shores Rotary Club, Macomb Count Easter Seal Society, St. Clair Shores Sportsman's Club, Macomb County Master Plumbers Association and IWCA Condominium Association in Naples, Florida. David loved scouting and became the Scout Leader for the same troop he belonged to as a young man. David married Norma Maison on February 11, 1956 in St. Clair Shores and they had a loving and wonderful marriage which lasted 55 years. His passions were his love of family which knew no boundaries and hunting and fishing. He is survived by his loving wife, Norma; beloved daughters, Janet Mayernik, and Jacqueline Straub; much loved son-in-law, Richard who was more of a son than words can describe; his much loved grandchildren, Michael and Jeanne Mayernik, and Sarah and Alicia Killinger. Also surviving is sister, Dorothy Brown; sisters-in-law, Helen Waltman, Kathy (John) Paholsky and Peggy Maison; brother-in-law, Richard Maison; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sons, Earl J., Henry F. and sister, Carol Liss. A celebration of his life will take place on November 6, 2011.
