Christopher Wetherington Obituary

Christopher Gerard Wetherington -BONAIRE - Christopher Gerard Wetherington, 54 years of age, died Wednesday, September 2, 2009 after a four-year struggle to recover from a motorcycle accident. Chris was born in the Panama Canal Zone on November 5, 1954 to parents Lonnie and Geneva Wetherington, the sixth of nine children. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Patricia, and his brothers, Edwin and Lonnie. -An avid sportsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and belonged to hunting clubs in the Middle Georgia area. He was known to many as a loyal friend with a quick sense of humor and a generous heart. A talented mechanic and carpenter, he built his own home. He was employed at Robins Air Force Base as an automobile technician and attended First Methodist Church. -Chris was a well-loved husband, father, brother, and uncle. His memory will be lovingly treasured by his wife, Monica; and two daughters, Valley Faye and Shelby. Survivors also include sisters, Marianne (Herring), Sue (Alzheimer), and Madge (Kohanna); and brothers, Charles and Joseph, as well as numerous nephews and nieces. -A memorial service will be held at 10A.M. the opening day of dove season, Saturday, September 5, 2009, at McCullough Funeral Home Chapel. The family suggests that memorial donations be made in his name to the Shepherd Center, 2020 Peachtree Road NW, Atlanta, GA 30309-1415.
