Richard Eugene Rumney -ATLANTA - Richard Eugene Rumney, 66, died Wednesday, January 11, 2012, in a local hospice facility. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M., prior to a 3P.M. memorial service on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Bridges Funeral Home in Gray. -Mr. Rumney, the son of Edward Rumney and the late Alice Crawley Brown, was born in Macon on May 13, 1945, and had lived in Atlanta for the past forty years. He worked as a machine operator for Xerox and was a volunteer at Zoo Atlanta. He was preceded in death by a sister, Tonya Lea Brown. -Mr. Rumney is survived by his devoted wife of forty years, Cherie Susan Lee Rumney; father, Edward Rumney; sister, Marti Phagan; and by his brothers, Robert Brown, Jr. and Richard Brown. -In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Zoo Atlanta, Development Department, 800 Cherokee Avenue, SE, Atlanta, Georgia 30315. -The family may be contacted at the residence of Jenny Chambliss at 119-A Little River Run, South, Eatonton, Georgia 31024. -Bridges Funeral Home and Crematory in Gray has charge of arrangements. -Please visit the online memorial at www.bridgesfh.com.
