REV. LYNN CLARKE RAINSBERGER

WILMINGTON - Rev. Lynn Clarke Rainsberger, of Wilmington, son of Rev. A.C. and Eva Rainsberger, served as a United Methodist minister for 40 years. He continued to care for others and serve his community in his retirement.
A graduate of Ohio Northern University and Garrett Evangelical Seminary, his ministry reached many through his parishes including Chicago (Ashburn), Cincinnati (Salem Church), Mechanicsburg, Mt. Sterling, and Columbus (Linden Community Church). He also served on the Interboard Council of the West Ohio Conference. He loved to sing and was a member of the Methodist Men's Ministers Choir for 40 years.
Rev. Rainsberger is survived by his love and wife of 70 years, Irene Pounds Rainsberger; his children, Paul (Susan Koenig), Ben (Kathy Smith), and Doris (Brian Stritenberger); daughters-in-law, Mary Lou Rainsberger and Karen Rainsberger; grandchildren, Keri Rainsberger, Richard Wilcox, Karl Rainsberger, Dustin Rainsberger, Seth Rainsberger, Kayli Johnson, and Heather Jobson; and great-grandchildren, Kiara Rainsberger, Jordan Rainsberger, and Alexa Jobson.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Dale Rainsberger; sisters, Isabelle Rainsberger and Maureen Schotke; and sons, Mark and Ray.
Rev. Rainsberger was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014, at the age of 92.
Celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014 in Wilmington United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Life Care Commitment at Cape May or to the Wilmington United Methodist Church.
