George was a great man

Deepest condolences to Linda, Ed, the boys and to Elaine. I had the privilege of going out to lunch with Linda, and her mom and dad and what I will remember is how funny and joyful George was. He simply adored his daughter and he was a wonderful man that made others happy. His smile, his laughter and the glint in his eye as he made Linda and his wife say, "oh Dad!" as they chuckled at his stories and jokes are what I will always remember. He had a song in his heart and kind words for all. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

To the Cannell Family,

My thoughts are with you at the passing of George. He was an icon of the community and the neighborhood (I grew up on Dyer Street). I was tickled to be recently reminded of the special card that he, my dad and a few others shared over many, many years. I still remember that card!

He certainly left a positive mark upon the Skowhegan community. A true "town father"... and will be missed by all.

Fondest of memories of George, your husband, father, grandfather and very special person. Loved the stories, card games, musical interludes and his devotion to family that we shared in Florida visits.
We will miss him-but- we will smile when we recall those moments.

Aunt Elaine, Linda, Cindy, Eric and Steven,

I have so many wonderful memories of Uncle George....from riding up to his wedding to Aunt Elaine when the headlights went out and he stuck his head out the window with a flashlight so Uncle Paul could see the road. Miraculously we made it without an incident!!...to all the parties at our house and listening to Uncle George's band. Then there were the corney jokes......he always had one.....he was always ready to bring a smile to your face.....such a kind and sweet Uncle.

May all your family memories bring you comfort at this difficult time.

With love and prayers,

Tom and Marilyn

Cindy,
I am very sorry about your dad.
I went to the Banana Stand one time and was so impressed with it. I was amazed at the fruits and vegetables they had in Skowhegan Maine. It was like going to the market in Boston. At the time I thought If I lived in Skowhegan I would go there all the time. It was so pleasant.
I hope that the service goes well. I can not be there but I hope to talk to you soon.
Take care
Maureen.
