He was born in Augusta, Nov. 8, 1940, the son of the late Romeo and Irene Veilleux Roy. He was educated in Augusta schools.
Richard enjoyed music, home cooking and nature, especially flowers. He will be remembered as an endearing and caring person who always made people smile. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wonderful and caring family at RAFTS Inc. at 76 Bradley St., Lewiston; two sisters, Jacqueline Grenier of Gardiner and Jeannette Tondreau of Augusta; two brothers, Romeo Roy and wife Bertha of Chelsea, and Raymond Roy and wife Julie of Arizona.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services at noon Tuesday at the Fortin Group Funeral Home, Cremation and Monument Services, 70 Horton St. Lewiston. Burial will occur in Holy Family Cemetery, Augusta.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to RAFTS Inc., 47 Wood St., Lewiston, ME 04240.
