Lionel Morin Obituary

WATERVILLE -- Lionel W. Morin, 90, passed away at Woodlands, West River Road in Waterville, Saturday evening, April 16, 2011. Lionel was born on September 9, 1920 in St.-Prosper-de-Dorchester, Canada. Lionel was predeceased by parents, Joseph Morin in 1978 and Lea Poulin Morin in 1987.

He married Lucille Morin on July 4, 1947 in St.-Prosper where they made their home for approximately 6 years and then settled at Autumn Street in Waterville, where they raised their two sons. Lionel had a sugar shack while living in Canada, which he was very proud of, and he worked in the woods for many years as a lumberman.

Lionel is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lucille Morin of Waterville; two sons, Francis J. Morin and wife Sonja of Fairfield, and Mike Morin and significant other Sheila Serencha of Oakland; granddaughters Kathy Morin of Augusta and Michelle Abare of North Carolina, of whom Papere was very proud; his sisters, Louisa Poulin, Lionette Morin and Estelle Morin, all of Augusta; many nieces and nephews, in Maine and Canada.

He was predeceased by his four brothers, Raoul Morin at 5 months old in 1916, Raoul in 1930 at age 11, Yvan in 1960, Julien 2009, and his sister Isabelle Boiley in 1993.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to Katrina. At Lionel's request, there will be no service. Arrangements under the care Direct Cremation, Belfast. Family burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery, Grove Street, Waterville. Online condolences may be offered at www.directcremationofmaine.com.
