She was born in Norridgewock on Sept. 15, 1932, the daughter of Frank Vernon Keene and Mildred (Braddock) Keene. She attended Eaton School in Norridgewock and Skowhegan High School.
On June 7, 1952, she married her soulmate Roland C. Jones, and they shared 51 loving years together.
Prior to retirement, she worked at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, in Plainville, Conn. In 1968, she and her family moved back to Maine, where she sold Avon in town. That's how she rekindled old friendships and made many new friends. She drove school bus for School Administrative District 54 for a short time, and she also worked for Norrwock shoe in Skowhegan until they closed.
Norine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a true friend to all, and she loved her God!
She was a life-time member of the First Congregational Church of Norridgewock, where she had a dream and helped with the rebirth of the new church. She served her church as deaconess for years and sang in the choir. She was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star, which she served several years as worthy matron, and represented the state of Iowa for her chapter. She was a member of the Eaton & Norridgewock Alumni Association, and she looked forward to seeing her old classmates each year.
She enjoyed reading Westerns, doing word searches, square dancing, and traveling to far away places. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time throughout the years camping with her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Roland C. Jones. She is survived by her three children, Nancy, Dean and Glenn Jones, all of Norridgewock; a brother, Howard Keene, and wife Shirley of Fairoaks, Calif.; grandchildren Ryan Jones and wife Amy of Norridgewock, McKenzie Jones of Ocala, Fla., Adria Callan of Solon, Sarah Jones of San Francisco, Calif., Emily Jones of South Lake Tahoe, Nev., and Amber Carter and boyfriend Dylan of Fairfield. Norine had two special great-grandchildren, Megan and Cody Jones of Norridgewock, whom she loved dearly and enjoyed watching grow and play daily. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and many special friends who she held dear to her heart. She will be sadly missed by her devoted daughter, Nancy, who cared for her for many years.
In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to the First Congregational Church of Norridgewock, Sunday school building fund.
Special thanks go to all the nurses, the doctor, and staff at Cedar Ridge Nursing Center in Skowhegan for their great care and comfort toward my mother and her family during our time of need. God bless you all.
Visiting hour will be Thursday, May 26, from 1 to 2 p.m., with a funeral service starting at 2 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Norridgewock.
Arrangements are by Giberson Funeral Home, 40 Maple St., Madison.

Nancy, Glenn, Dean and Families, Your Uncle Howard, Aunt Shirley and cousins in California are so very saddened by the loss of your mother, my dad's sister and our aunt. We have very fond memories of her and that great sense of humor. The other entries in the guest book certainly show how well loved she was by your community, family and friends. I realize that we really missed out by being on the other side of the country. Take care and please stay in touch.

So sorry we have lost such a charming member of our community in which she participated to the fullest. Just about everyone knew her and loved her. Her wonderful sense of humor will not soon be forgotten. Rest in peace with your beloved family who have gone before. Lucille Greer

To Norine's family: Our deepesy sympathy, Your Mother was a wonderful, fun loving person that touched everyone's heart. She was part of my family of neighbors. She played with me , she babysat me, we grow-up together. She was by far a better ball player than some of the boys in our group. We sang in the choir tog. Laughing was her wonderful gift. She and Bette are tog. now, both so badly missed. God Bless all of you and know she is your guarding Angel from now on. She and James had great times tog. in the same class i high school. Lovingly Rosalie & James Bacon

My memories of Norine are from Eastern Star, for some reason I couldn't remember her first name, so she told me to call her "Hey" Jones and I most always would. She was a great person, so Rest In Peace "Hey Jones"

Dear Nancy, Glenn and Dean and your children, It is times like these when I wished we lived closer, but we will get together this summer when we are back in Maine and have some time of "remembering". Your Mom and I were like sisters in many ways, our Moms were best friends so it was natural for us to be.
Know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all, Jeanette and Fred

My sincere condolences to the family of Norine. She was a long time friend and classmate. I took lots of abuse from her each summer my family visited Sunset Camps in Smithfield...and loved every moment of it. She will be missed by me and many. "God" bless her.
