Schwartz, 65
PORTLAND - Sylvia Rose Schwartz, 65, beloved and dearest cousin and friend, died Saturday, May 25, 2013, in Portland. A resident of Buxton, Sylvia was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., the only daughter, of Paul and Beatrice Schwartz, of blessed memory. Sylvia graduated from Smith College, Phi Beta Kappa in 1968 and received her Ph.D. in linguistics from MIT in 1972. After she moved to Maine, Sylvia worked as an IT consultant for Westbrook College and Youth Alternatives. She is survived by her cousins Robert Schwartz and Fred Brandfon and their families. She will be keenly missed by her family and friends.
A funeral service will take place at 10:00 am on a.m., May 28, 2013 at the Levey Chapel, 471 Deering Ave., Portland. Interment will follow at Temple Beth El Memorial Park. Arrangements by The Jewish Funeral Home.

My condolences to Sylvia's family and friends. Even though I only worked with her a short time she made a big impression. Sylvia had a wealth of knowledge of which she loved to share, a beautiful smile that radiated from the inside out and one of the sweetest people I'll ever know.
