Dear Ladd Family, On behalf of the Leighton family I would like to extend our deepest sympathy to you all at this most difficult time. My parents, Phil and Pat Leighton, go way back with Stan and Gwen and I think of Stan with a smile on my face. Anyone who was fortunate enough to have known him was a lucky person. Take care and God bless.

Dear Gwen and family,
I was away last week but on my return I saw the sad news of Stan's passing. I think you will remember that we were classmates and friends at Bates College. Whenever we met again after that it was always a pleasure. I know that you and his family meant so very much to him. He was so proud of you all. It will be difficult for you all, but you have wonderful memories and he has left a beautiful heritage of his life and family for all to remember and cherish.
Jim Moody was kind enough to send me the remembrance program...it was lovely.
Sincerly,

Deaar Gwen, Bobby and Kayla:
How saddened we were to read of Stan's passing. How many memories flooded back of the days on Lawn Avenue, going to the beach, Stan rescuing me from the open register, the little kiss at your wedding and Kayla being our flower girl. Our families have been united for many years and we now remember all those wonderful memories. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this most difficult time. May God Bless you and keep you in his loving arms. Love, Julie & Jim Irving and Becky Bibber

My dearest Kayla,
As I thought about what to write I couldn't help but think of how lucky we were to have such great dad's!! The most difficult part of being such a close and loving family is the tremendous loss we feel when they are gone. I love you all,

Of all the "sayings" and stories accumulated and shared with my friend one always seemed to stand out and it also describe him best. It is Cadillac's copywritten "The Penalty of Leadership" advert that ran in 1915.
These were troubled times for the US motor industry yet Cadillac set the tone and were the innovative one's that everyone copied.
Stan also exemplified these words .He too the true LEADER. And he was always focused on helping people. It was no wonder, he loved this little text. It is readily available via the Internet today.
What his life meant to others impacted people far and wide and although he is gone his influence will continue on forever because he was a true LEADER!
God Bless his family, his friends and all those fortunate enough to have been touched by his life,
Will & Jean Payson
