Jon and Joey, your dad and my dad were friends for a lot of years. After our dad died, Hazel and I were at Coles with your Dad and Mary. Jim kept saying, "I cant believe Kent died. I'm the last one left. There were years of supper at Coles with your parents, Dad, and Hazel followed by cribbage on Monday night. Supper on Wednesday and Friday nights and breakfast on Sundays. You could set your watches by their punctuality!! In the last few years Jim's neighbor Mary Torrey came with him to Cole's and Dad and Hazel were there, too. What a 4some they were. I often drove them up and back in the last couple of years and I enjoyed the joking and laughter, too. I'm delighted they all had each other.

I just read about Jim's passing and will miss him. Like many people who's lives he touched, with his sweet, kind manner, there will be a void. I helped Jim every so often with tidying up his home in Poland. I knew Jim when he had his black cat. Jim liked sitting by his wood stove from the wood he would bring in himself! He loved reading the paper or doing his crossword puzzles. We would talk about current events or share a good laugh and a cup of coffee. He was determined to stay at home and he did!
I hope Jim's family has many fond memories to share and think of, when they remember Jim, I know I will.
Fondly,
Cynthia Wellito and family

Jon & Joey,
I just learned of your Fathers passing. He was truely a Yarmouth legend and the two of you were always considered a part of the Baker family during our wonderful school years together.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and yours,

As a former resident of Yarmouth for 32 years I bought many, many gallons of Benjamin Moore paint from Moose. I also looked forward to seeing them at the Poland Spring Country Club. They had a wonderful horn attached to their golf cart that Moose took great delight in sounding.
I was not aware that Babs had predeceased him, so please accept my heartfelt sympathy for the loss of both your parents. They were very special people, and I will never forget them.

Dear Joe and John.
I was so sad to hear about your Dad...The last time I heard about your Dad was when I bumped into John at the airport and John was telling me he was struggling a little bit but still out there trying to chop his own wood...at 92!
I wanted to let you both know that your Dad was one of the first men who actually taught and trusted me with some life skills...painting. I still remember him teaching proper paint strokes, how to carry an up-right ladder, etc....many fond summer memories as part of the Yarmouth Paint company crew...especially being able to spend time with one of best freinds, Joe....except Joe when we lost the rolls of wall paper!
God Speed to all and know that i am thinking of you both.
Your friend,
Jeff Merrill

And how can you not think of Jimmy and not hear of the clang of horseshoes, watching the waterskiing, and the wonderful times on Upper Range Pond. And the dogs, Cain, the Boxer and Freda, the German Shepherd wiping out an entire dinner on the Anderson's picnic table because she had to follow Jimmy in the boat and the picnic table was in the way. You have to remember the good times! Be sad, but then, remember all the good times and the memories.
