Hall, 76
OLD ORCHARD BEACH -- Arlene Herman Hall, 76, formerly of Wesley Avenue, and more recently of May Street, Biddeford, passed away on May 31, 2011, at Southern Maine Medical Center.
She was born on March 14, 1935, in Lock Port, N.Y., the daughter of the late John and Helen (Decker) Herman, and attended Portland schools.
From 1950 to 1967, Arlene resided in California; afterwards, she moved to Limington and Old Orchard Beach in 1984.
She worked at Saunders Brothers in Westbrook until 1976; prior to which, she worked as a loom worker and cloth inspector at the Kezar Falls Woolen Mills.
Arlene enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing Yahtzee and SKIP-BO, volunteering for Meals on Wheels in Old Orchard Beach, and spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Arthur Leroy Hall in 1999; two children, William Hall and Lena Ruland; brother, John Herman; and grandson, Steven Ruland. Arlene is survived by sons, David Hall and his wife Kimberly of Standish, and Steven Hall and his fiance Katherine Gibbons of Cape Elizabeth, daughters, Mary Graham and her husband Wilford of Portland, and Nancy Rodney of South Portland; brother, Paul Herman of Texas, sister, Helen Snyder of Portland; son-in-law, Steve Ruland of Lakeland, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Monday, June 6, from 10-11 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service at the Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main St., Saco. Burial will follow at Forest City Cemetery, South Portland. www.dcpate.com.
