Evelyn G. Leriche, 69
SANFORD -- Evelyn G. Leriche, 69, of Sanford, died on May 16, 2011, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough after a brief illness.
She was born in New London, N.H., on Sept. 21, 1941, the daughter of Raymond L. and Evelyn (Call) Westgate and grew up in Portsmouth, N.H. As her mother's namesake, family members affectionately referred to her as Little Evelyn.
She was employed for over 30 years with Sprague Electric in Sanford.
Described as a major Red Sox fan, she was also an avid card player and enjoyed knitting.
She was predeceased by her parents; by a granddaughter, Amber Marie Gray; and by her siblings, Marjorie Rand, Gladys Canfield, Raymond L. Westgate Jr., Leslie Westgate and Ralph Westgate. Survivors include her husband of almost 25 years, Richard J. Leriche of Sanford; a son, Robert Gray and his wife Sue of Waterboro; a granddaughter, Isis Gray of Springvale, two grandsons, David Garrity and Michael Parkhurst, both of Waterboro; sisters, Arlene Forkell of Hutchinson, Kan., Barbara Genthner of Brooksville, Fla., Betty Foss and her husband Gerald of Middletown, R.I., brothers, Robert Westgate and his wife Gloria of Naples, Donald Westgate and his wife Geri of Spring Hill, Fla., Kenneth Genthner of Philadelphia, Pa.; sisters-in-law, Mary Westgate of Macon, Ga., Diane Westgate of Sanford; and several nieces and nephews including her special niece Peggy Dunlap of Waterboro.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale, where a memorial service will be conducted on Monday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, So.
