Joyce Brinkley Obituary
Joyce Brinkley, 54
PORTLAND -- Joyce Brinkley, originally of Portland, died at the age 54, Thursday, May 19, 2011 in Marietta, Ga. Joyce graduated from Portland High School in June 1975. She would eventually move to Atlanta where she met and married Thomas Brinkley. Together they have one son, Jamaal who survives Joyce along with his wife Ashley and their daughter Jamayah, all of whom reside in Atlanta.
Joyce, who was loved and will be missed, is survived by her mother, Lucille Young of Portland; sisters, Jean Gullatt, of Dover, N.H., Mary Crawford, Patricia Smith, and Kathy Parker-Ross, all of Portland, a brother, Tracy Young of Portland along with her sister Joan Davis, of Marietta, Ga., who has stuck by Joyce and had taken care of her for years and during her time of distress. (We Love her dearly). She is also survived by all her nieces and nephews in Portland, who will always keep her memory deep in their hearts: Cynthia Young, Issoufou Hamilton, Jeremiah Young, Galen Gullatt, Scott Gullatt, Felix Craft, Linda Lester, Mia Craft, Pamela Manley, and Tiffany Powell.
Visiting hours will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 31 at Independent Death Care of Maine, 660 Brighton Avenue, Portland. A graveside service will follow at Brooklawn Memorial Park, in Portland, at 2:00 p.m., with Raymond Morrow officiating.
