My thoughts and prayers go out to Mel's family. He was one of the regulars in our Lifeline swim group at Riverton years ago. He was a wonderful person.

I was saddened to hear about Mel's passing. He gave me an opportunity to come work for him 20 years ago, and it was a great experiance that led to a career in the coatings business. HE WAS the King in the Portland, and southern Maine market during his tenure. He left quite a legacy. The Smith family were all exceptional people!

My prayers go out to the Smith family for the loss of a memorable father, husband, and leader to many-that he was!
