Ellis, R.N., 56
SACO -- Patricia 'Pat' R. Ellis, R.N., 56, of Saco, died on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice, Scarborough, surrounded by her family, after a long courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on Oct. 29, 1954, in Biddeford, the daughter of Gerard L.P. and Jeannine (DesLoges) Belanger. She graduated from Biddeford High School, Class of '72, and earned her nursing degree from University of Maine, Portland, in 1976.
On June 5, 1976, Pat married Douglas Ellis at St. Andre's Church, Biddeford.
Pat began her working career at Boston's Beth Israel Hospital for several years followed by several years with New England Memorial Hospital, Stoneham, Mass. She then worked over 20 years with Southern Maine Medical Center, Biddeford. Later Pat worked with Visiting Nurses of Saco and Brighton Medical Center, Portland. Since 2009, she had been employed with Dell Inc. of Plano, Texas, as a nursing systems analyst.
She was a member of the Mix & Mingle Square Dance Club, Scarborough, and Let's Dance, Portland. Patricia enjoyed traveling and camping with her family.
She is survived by her husband of over 34 years, Douglas J. Ellis of Saco; one daughter, Heather Lecompte and her husband Wesley of Lewiston, one son, Joshua Ellis and his wife Trisha of Westbrook; her father, Gerard L.P. Belanger of Biddeford; three brothers, Richard R. Belanger and his wife Patty of Dayton, Norman R. Belanger and his wife Betty of Biddeford, Steven G. Belanger and his wife Geralyn of Billerica, Mass.; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2011, at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 23, 2011, at Most Holy Trinity Church in Saco. Entombment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco. Dear Doug and Family,

Ken and I were deeply saddened to learn of Pat's passing. She has always held a special place in our hearts and her courage during the last few years has been an inspiration to all of us. Doug we will always be here to help in any way that we can and our thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time. We love you!
