Kuvent, 85
ARIZONA -- Shirley was born in Chicago, Ill. She attended Portland High School and the University of Maine. Shirley was an avid artist and was recognized for her ceramics and paintings.
Shirley was past president of ORT and held many board positions. She produced and directed many stage plays while living in Florida. Shirley was always a gracious hostess. She lovingly fed, entertained, and provided a sympathetic ear to all at her kitchen table.
Shirley was predeceased by her beloved husband, Arnold; and son, Larry Segal. She is survived by her children, Donna Segal, Robert and Meri Kuvent; her grandchildren, Jamie, Stewart, Lauren, Jared, Omar, Zachary and Ethan; and great-granddaughter, Madison.
Services will be held on Friday, June 3, at 1 p.m., at Independent Death Care, 660 Brighton Ave., Portland. Burial will take place at Temple Beth El Cemetery. Shiva will be observed at 3 Van Carll Circle, Scarborough, on Saturday at 6 p.m.

Dear Bob, Donna and family,
I am so sorry for your loss! I remember Shirley as such a warm and lovely woman who always made everyone she knew feel special. For so many years your parents and mine were best of friends and a part of our lives. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

We were so very saddened to hear of Shirley's passing. She was a wonderful wife, devoted mother and a best friend. We were so close to Shirley and Arnold for many, many years in Maine and are both dearly missed.
