Therese Kraft Obituary

Therese 'Terry'
Kraft, 49
PORTLAND -- Therese 'Terry' Kraft, 49, loving wife, mother, sister and friend, found her peace on May 16, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on March 12, 1962, and adopted into the loving family of Joseph Manship and Constance Welch Manship.
When she was young, she was a competitive swimmer, and spent many memorable weekends in Machias at Bog Lake.
She graduated from Catherine McAuley High School in 1980 and in 1984 she received her associates degree in Secretarial Sciences with honors from Casco Bay College. She was employed as a paralegal at Woodward and Howe, and as an executive assistant at Gowen Marine until the time of her illness.
Terry was a bright, shining light to everyone who knew her, and her life philosophy was 'Love All, Serve All.' She was a loving, selfless person who always had a beautiful smile on her face despite her illness, and had an infectious positive attitude. She was always willing to 'give a hand up' to anyone who needed it, was a surrogate mom to many who sought her guidance, and eternally touched everyone around her.
She loved music, reading, and 'hangin' with the fam' for Friday happy hour. In recent years, she realized a lifelong dream and was reunited with her biological family. One of her greatest loves was traveling in the motor home with Patrick, 'the best husband in the world.'
She was predeceased by her parents; and her husband, William 'Bill' Hoster. She is survived by her loving husband, Patrick; her son, Joseph; her brother, Robert; and her biological family that were blessed to meet her: sister Susan and brother Kris.
A celebration of life was held on May 20, 2011, at Independent Death Care in Portland.

I only knew Terry for what seemed to be a very short while. Just since her and Patric have been together. I that time I treasured her as my friend and Kirsten's as well. We never got in the house and never left without a big smile and a warm heart felt hug. my deepest condolences to Patric and Joseph and all the friends and family who has suffered this great loss. Terry, you will be truly missed but you will be in great company until we all meet again.

I never had the opportunity to meet Terry, but feel that I know her through Sue. What a wonderful story they share together. Thank you Terry, for being the sister Sue always wanted!

Pat, I never met Terry, but feel as I have because every time I would run into you, you spoke of the great life you are having with your wife. She may not be here physically, but will remain with you in spirit until the day that you reunite in the paradise of your heaven eternally.

Terry has been the older sister I never had for 18 years, and was one of the most amazing people I've ever had the privilege of knowing. Infinitely strong and wise with an open heart, her spirit and philosophy will always stay with me. She touched so many lives, and we're all the better for it. Terry, I wish you could have stayed longer before you moved on to the next party:) Lots of Love.
