Joseph Stransky

MANSFIELD: Joseph Stransky, 92, of Mansfield passed away December 16, 2012 at MedCentral Health System.

Joseph was born in Ebendorf, Romania on December 29, 1919 to Adam and Helen (Hirsch) Stransky and came to the United States in 1952. He worked for Tappans for 29 years and was a member of their 25 year Century Club. Joseph was also a 60 year member of the Sons of Herman, member of the Liederkranz and then for 20 years was a member of the Liederkranz Senior Dance group.

Survivors include his wife whom he married November 4, 1940 Elisabeth Bernhardt; daughter Francisca (Kenneth) Hagel of Mansfield; grandchildren Kathleen (Fred) Moore, Elizabeth (David) Dowler all of Mansfield; great-grandchildren Michael and Katelyn Moore, Lily Dowler; sister Thersia Andreasson of Mansfield; niece Rosana (John) Remy of Butler; nephews John (Carol) Andreasson of Mansfield, Edward (Colleen) Andreasson of Shelbyville, IN.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Adam, grandson Joseph Hagel.

Friends may call at Herlihy-Chambers Funeral Home, 173 Park Avenue West, on Wednesday from 4 - 7pm with a vigil service at 4pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30am Thursday at St. Mary of the Snows Catholic Church with Fr. Nelson Beaver officiating. Burial will follow at Mansfield Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made for a mass at St. Mary's Church or to the church.
