Joseph Rahall Obituary
MANSFIELD: Joseph J. Rahall, Sr., 87, of Mansfield, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Winchester Terrace Nursing Home, following a lengthy illness.
Joseph was born on June 2, 1926, in Wheeling, WV, to Charles and Matilda George Rahall. He was a WWII Veteran, having proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and enjoyed horse racing and gambling. He married his wife, Sandra Rahall on January 11, 1980, and she survives him.
Along with his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mary Wolf, of Shelby; four grandchildren, Tylor Wolf, Aaron Wolf, Isaiah Wolf, and Victoria Perdue; five siblings, Ronald (Carol) Rahall, Jim (Helen) Rahall, and Phillip Rahall all of Mansfield, Robert (Sandy) Rahall of FL, and Mary (Arthur) Morgan of KS; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Patricia VanDemark; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Frederick and Elizabeth Busch.
Calling hours will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD., 1106 Park Avenue East (St. Rt. 430E), Mansfield. Funeral services will follow at 5:00 p.m. with full Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers and to assist the family with funeral expenses, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home.
