Brenda McHale Obituary

Brenda Jo McHale

TORRANCE, CA: Brenda Jo McHale, 73, of Torrance, California, passed away peacefully at 4:53 Monday morning, February 22, at her daughter's home following a lengthy illness.

Brenda was born September 15, 1942 in Mansfield, Ohio to Peter and Dorothy Maiyer. She was a graduate of Ontario High School.

Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing or simply meeting Brenda knew exactly how she felt on any particular matter. She greatly enjoyed her multiple annual trips to Las Vegas, and traveled extensively with her husband to motorsports events throughout the country. She leaves behind a wide spectrum of trackside friendships which encompassed drivers, team owners, media, photographers, and team personnel.

The outpouring of love and support from the racing community has overwhelmed her family. She would have been amazed at the love that has been shown and the lives that she touched.

She loved her grandchildren and reveled in their various talents and interests. Everyone who knew her will find comfort in the collection of anecdotes and experiences that defined her presence in their lives.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 26 years, T.E. McHale of Torrance, California; sons, David (Stephanie) Marshman of Ft. Myers, Florida, Doug (Carol) Marshman of Dalton, Georgia, and daughter Christy (Marc) Collins of Marion; grandchildren, Jordan, Thomas, and Samantha Marshman of Ft. Myers, Florida and Marshal, Andrew, and Meghan Collins of Marion; mother-in-law Fran McHale of Moreland Hills; mother Dorothy Spence of Lexington; sister Joyce Riddlebaugh and brother Tom (Susi) Maiyer, both of Ontario; brother-in-law Terry McHale of Rocky River: nieces and nephews Stacie, Wendy, Kim, Marc, Tommy, Stephanie, and Brian; and many great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Peter Maiyer; her first husband, Dave Marshman, her brother-in-law, Mike Riddlebaugh, and her father-in-law, Thomas McHale, Sr.

The family would like to thank Dr. Vinay Puduvalli and staff of the Neuro-oncology Department at The James Cancer Center at The Ohio State University, caregivers Beth Young and Joshua Rich.

Donations may be made to the Neuro-Oncology Department at The James Cancer Center c/o Dr. Vinay Puduvalli, M410 Starling Loving Hall, 320 W 10th Avenue, Columbus, OH 43210.

Dear Tom, I am so sorry. She was a wonderful gal. So supportive and full of fun. I'll never forget her insisting she buy and cook us a pork roast for New Year's the first year Terry and I were married. She will be missed, but I am better for having known her. Much love. Lol
