When I was young, I spent many of days with the Freitas, Arlene, and Al, were very gracious and very accepting for those times. I would visit Esther, who cared for the children and household, and she was well taken care off. I eventually married Esther, and we both always appreciated all they did. I worked with Arlene, art Marin General, as a psych tech, and learn much from her, she was wonderful, and very good with the patients. I'm now a retiring General Surgeon, and know that her teachings has helped me throughout my career. She will be remembered and miss. F. Louis Rios MD

Memories that we have of a loved one are very useful as therapy when we lose someone we love. I also as tracy said remember the California cousins coming to Minnesota. Thanks Aunt Arlene

We loved when the California cousins came to Minnesota! I remember all the good food and great stories. Aunt Arlene had a way of making us feel special. So sorry for your loss. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Keep her spirit alive by sharing the stories and fun times!

I remember sneaking cigarettes out of Mrs. Freitas' pack when she wasn't looking. Lori was that you with me? I remember overnights in the court yard, I remember rides to school ... both grammar school and high school... she drove us every morning! (Until Raul got his license) I remember the Siamese cats. I remember fun summers in her backyard. I remember the phone in the garage (I thought that was so cool- who has a phone in their garage?) Mostly I remember Mrs. Freitas being so nice and I always felt comfortable at the Freitas house because she made it that way!

Arlene, you will always be Mrs. Freitas to me, my mom next door. My best childhood memories are growing with you and your family, Mrs. Paul's fish sticks, chocolate chip cookies, cranking the ice cream machine (seemed to take all day to make it), huge hairy huskies....and the best pool parties ever!

Fly with the Angels Arlene! You were one of the sweetest women I ever met. You will be missed by all who knew you.
