ALFRED BOUSQUET Obituary

Alfred Bousquet, Jr. Age 70, of Fairfax, California passed peacefully in his sleep on October 15, 2010. Al grew up in the Sunset district of San Francisco,. Talented in sports, he played baseball from about age 10 and Pop Warner football. Al went to Washington High with his two best friends to play football there, getting All-City honors his Sr. year in football and baseball. He graduated from the University of Iowa where he lettered in baseball, then went on to a career as an Air Force Officer, after marrying high school sweetheart Pamela Sorgatz in 1960. After a stint in Vietnam, the family enjoyed four years in Germany and were then stationed in Ohio, where he earned a Master's Degree. After the Air Force, Al worked in youth parole and later as an adult parole officer after they returned home to California. He spent many years coaching his equally-talented sons, Ken and Matthew, in soccer and baseball. He enjoyed his retirement with golf and traveling. He was extremely proud of his sons Ken, an artist and award-winning magazine art director, and Matthew, chef-owner of two restaurants in Windsor, Bistro M and the Michelin-starred Mirepoix. Grandchildren Elseay, Cassandra, and Sebastian were the little stars in his sky, and he always lit up in their presence. A kind, gentle, loving man of dry wit, more than a little irreverence and exemplary character, he is deeply missed by family and friends. He is survived by Pamela Bousquet of Sausalito, their sons Ken Bousquet and wife Jennifer of Brisbane and Matthew Bousquet and wife Bryan of Windsor, grandchildren Cassandra, Sebastian and Eleanor, and his brother Gene and wife Margie of Novato. There will be a gathering of friends and family in his memory on November 6th at 2 p.m. Please contact the family or friends for details.

For some reason, AL just entered my mind, and I am saddened to hear that he is gone. I played football and baseball with AL at Washington. AL was a class act. My condolences to his family. Don Pfohl, Salem, Oregon. USAF 1957-1961

To the Bousquet clan: Al was a jewel of a man and easy to do business with. He was a great raconteur, especially when it came to his Iowa prep days and sports in general. He would have loved that 2010 Giants World Series win! Matthew & Lisa Tarini (Phoenix, Arizona)

My prayers and thoughts are with the Bousquet family. I worked with Al when I began my career with CDCR (Richmond Unit) and he was always a good friend mentor and great co-worker. It was a pleasure and a privilege to have known Al.
