Alta Geraldine Elkus Alta Geraldine Elkus (known as Gerry) passed away after a valiant struggle with cervical cancer on September 2, 2010, at her home in Belvedere, CA, where she resided for 43 years. Gerry was born in Riverside, CA in 1929, moved to Ohio then Bergen County, NJ. She received a B.A. at Brown, then pursued psychology at Columbia. In San Francisco, 1966, she married Charles de Young Elkus, Jr., and had her two children. After his death she became a successful interior designer. In 1982, Gerry met Ronald Reuther and married him in 2006. They traveled, entertained and attended the Explorers Club until his death. Gerry always loved friends and family, reading and her many creative outlets. She is remembered as an intelligent, giving, analytical, authentic, inquisitive woman with a dry humor.
