ANNE WORMOOD Obituary

Anne Carlough Wormood Anne passed into the next life to join her mother and father and beloved Cousin Bill on 10-20-2010. Anne was born in East Orange, New Jersey to Roberta and Edgar Dewitt Carlough. She spent a most wonderful childhood with her dear sister Jane in Loudonville New York, later moving to the House on Lake George. Anne graduated from Simmons College in Boston and became a fashion representative for Vogue Pattern Service in New York City. She married Brad Wormood in 1961 and followed her husband first to Chicago and then on to Marin County where together they raised two sons and a daughter. Anne owned and ran Pronto Press on Kerner Blvd in San Rafael for 25 years. She was affiliated with several business groups, including Leads, Naps and Soroptimists. Anyone who knew Anne, professionally or personally, was drawn to her infectious laugh, big smile and kind heart. She was the ultimate optimist and always looked for the best in people. She carried herself with grace and elegance even through life's trials. Anne loved her family above all else in the world. She loved the role of grandma to her five adoring grandchildren. She will be loved forever by her surviving family, her sister Jane Cleary of New Hampshire, daughter Diane Wormood of Paradise, Ca., son Carl Wormood of Atascadero, Ca., and son and daughter-in-law Eric and Aileen Wormood of Novato, Ca., as well as grandchildren Donovan and Gillian Wormood, Cole and Eden Wormood and Mitchell Wormood. She will be missed by her many friends, nieces, nephews and extended family. "If you wish to remember me, do it with a kind deed or a word to someone who needs you". The family requests donations be made to The John Douglas French Alzheimer's Foundation, 11620 Wilshire Blvd., Ste. 270, Los Angeles, Ca 90025 or the Soroptimists of Marin. Memorial celebration will be held at a later date.

Anne was the most beautiful woman inside and out and I love the photo you selected to remember her by. I loved her laughter, you could hear the glee and enthusiasm from across the room and it was infectious! I met Anne years ago through the Marin County Cultural Society. I think of her often and miss the wonderful conversations we had. I will cherish the memories of anything that made her smile and laugh. Anne was such a joy to know and I am grateful we crossed paths. RIP Anne, I hear there are some really good comedians in Heaven--I bet you are having a ball. XO

Carl, Eric and Diane, I'm very saddened to hear of your mom's passing. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for her during and after many years working at Pronto Press. She was always so fair to me and I really enjoyed working for her. I'm grateful our paths crossed when they did-- she made me a better person. Regards, Fred Little, Kent WA
