She was a cherished colleague at Marin General Hospital, where she is fondly remembered as someone who brought humor and grace to the challenges of health care. Barbara welcomed nurses starting out in patient care and served as a mentor as they took their first steps in the profession. She recognized the therapeutic value of animals and was an early advocate of therapy dogs at Marin General. A funeral mass will be offered at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Belmont on 22 July at 1:15pm.

Barbara called me her "baby nurse" when she was my preceptor. She inspired me with her grace and wit as she practiced the art of nursing. "it's all of life's great pageantry!" was one of her favorite lines when we were having busy days on the floor. You have forever inspired me dear Barbara.

Barbara has left a lasting impression on the many lives she touched simply by being herself. Everyone who became acquainted with her quickly appreciated her warmth, humor, and heart. Her passing is a loss. I will always carry fond memories of the laughs and smiles that she shared freely. My condolences to her family.

I am saddened to read of Barbara's passing. She accompanied my Bernese Mountain Dog, Gretl, and I on our visits at Marin General for 4+ years. She was such an advocate for the Marin Humane Society SHARE program and animal assisted therapy. It was clear from her interaction with all the staff and patients on our visits how much she was loved. We were privileged to know her and work with her.
