BEVERLEY JACKSON Obituary

Beverley Jackson Passed away peacefully on November 15, 2010, in Santa Rosa, California, surrounded by her family. Beverley, the youngest of four children, was born in Adin California on May 28, 1927 to Ira and Fern Nelson. At 17 she moved to Sacramento where she began working in the banking industry, and later continued in banking in San Francisco. In 1964 she became a court reporter for the superior court of San Rafael working for Judge Joe Wilson. In 1965 she married H.C. Jackson and together they built Jackson's Hardware in San Rafael. In 1970 she retired from court reporting to take care of her family full time. Beverley was an accomplished painter, lover of literature, an avid reader, and devoted golfer, who pursued her passion most often at the Marin Country Club and the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel in Hawaii. She traveled the world from the Galapagos to Hawaii to Europe and Japan, but what she enjoyed most was spending time with her family. She taught us the value of unconditional love, not always easy in a blended family, and her love of education was infectious. She was thrilled to see her children and grandchildren pursue their dreams of higher education. People enjoyed her humor, quick wit, kindness and generosity in giving to those less fortunate than her. She is survived by her husband of 45 years H.C. Jackson, children Valerie Pizzio (Jimmy), Karla Osmun (Mark), Rob Jackson (Sarah), Janice Jackson, Rick Jackson (Monica). Grandchildren Joe Pizzio (Meredith), J.P. Pizzio (Katie), Stacey Warner (Stephen), David Jackson (Tracey), Erica Cretien (Joe), Chrissy Cronin. Shari Cronin, Samantha Jackson, Jonathon Jackson, Stephanie Jackson: Great grandchildren Sean Pizzio Katelynn Pizzio, Noah Pizzio, Matthew Cretien Audrey Cretien, and Liam Jackson. She is also survived by her brother Glenn Nelson of Adin CA, and sister Velma Goddard of Bullhead City AZ and many nieces and nephews. There will be a celebration of her life on December 5th at 2:00pm in the grand hall at Varenna, 1401 Fountaingrove Pkwy, Santa Rosa. In lieu of flowers, Beverley preferred donations to go to the Marin Food Bank, 75 Digital Drive, Novato, Ca. 94949 or your favorite charity helping seniors.

To HC and the Jackson family, Grace and Strength come to me. One of my first memories of Bev was when I was around 15, we went on a family trip to one of the houses in Tahoe, Bev walked into a 'raining' house! The previous occupant's forgot to leave a faucet opened to keep the pipes from bursting, well they burst and all though it was over 30 yrs. ago I remember she didn't miss a beat, she said 'what a mess', it was, it got cleaned up and we still skied our butts off that weekend! Prayers & memories, Jenny
