HELEN SCHAAL Obituary

Helen Sarah Schaal Helen Sarah Schaal, born Helen Sarah Arrigo December 12, 1922, daughter of Florence and Antoni Arrigo, surviving her two older sisters, Mary Gilman and Sue Wollman, passed away peacefully at her home early Sunday morning, December 19, 2010. Helen is survived by her loving husband Tom and her twin children, Tom Jr. and Diane. Helen was born in Boston, MA but spent her childhood in Mill Valley, California, where she attended Tamalpais High School and became an accomplished tennis champion at 18 years old, winning the Marin County Junior Women's and Women's Singles and Mixed Doubles Championships, the Mill Valley Tennis Club Women's Championship, and was a Junior Whiteman Cup team member. She attended College of Marin and worked as an executive assistant at Pacific Bell in San Francisco. Helen and her loving husband Tom were married for 62 years, and moved from Marin County to Sacramento in 2005 to be near their children. Helen was a loving, kind, compassionate and caring wife and mother, and will be missed deeply. A private, invitation only Memorial for family and close friends will be held to honor and celebrate Helen's life.
