KAREN MANN Obituary

Karen Mann Age 68, departed our realm on Sunday, October 10, 2010 in Mt. Shasta, California. After many years in Marin County, she and her beloved partner, Barbara Buchanan moved to the mountains fulfilling their dream of rescuing and providing a home for their dearly loved pups and kitties. After graduating from UC Santa Barbara, Karen joined the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. After leaving the order, she maintained a deep spiritual practice throughout her life. She was a parole officer for 16 years until being severely injured on the job forcing her to retire. She then pursued and completed a doctorate in Public Administration. Karen lived life to the fullest, never dwelling on what she could not do but always cultivating an attitude of gratitude and joy. She will be dearly missed by her partner, Barbara as well as her sister, Marilyn Taylor, nieces, nephews and many friends. A celebration of life memorial will be held on Saturday, November 6 at 2:00 PM in the lower Lodge at Mt. Shasta Park in Mt. Shasta, California.
