Marilyn Leighton Curry Passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2010 with her two daughters Gretel Wittke and Heidi Adler by her side. Marilyn was a second generation Californian, growing up in Santa Cruz and later north Berkeley. She attended Castilleja College and the University of Oregon in Eugene. Her creative flair led her to merchandise management for Roose Brothers in Palo Alto, later she partnered in her father's (Frank Cox) Berkeley-based urban research and development firm with projects in Hawaii and California. In the late 60's she launched trendy clothing boutiques in Pacific Grove, Kentfield and San Juan Bautista called the Way Out House and The Beast. In the early 70's she began an import export business representing outdoor sporting goods lines to Sport Centers throughout Europe. Marilyn settled on the Rhine River, Germany, where she resided for 30 years. Marilyn returned to the Bay Area in 1999 closer to her two daughters of Mill Valley, and resided in Sausalito. She worked with art galleries, loved adventure and endeared herself to many, with her progressive outlook and ideals, wry wit, contagious laughter and her great love of life and celebration. A Ceremony will be held in Sausalito November 7th. For details: 415-686-1526.
