Marjorie Basco Obituary

Marjorie Davies Basco Passed away on November 12th, 2010 of natural causes. There are people in life whose smile can bring joy to the people around them. Whose kindness can bring comfort and whose generosity can bring relief. Marjorie was one of those people. Those who knew her realized she was a very unique person. Definitely one of a kind. She loved life and always saw the goodness in people. Marjorie was a very competitive person. She loved playing bridge, dominoes and other games and sports. Marjorie and her husband Richard moved to Larkspur in 1949 with their three children. She was born April 9th, 1917 in Magnolia, Arkansas and was raised in Louisiana. She met her future husband at Louisiana Tech when they were both students. They were married for seventy years. Marjorie was also a prolific artist and did paintings in oil of places she visited and of scenes she loved. A collection of her paintings are displayed in the homes of family and friends. She was an active part of her community, serving in the past as president of Sunny Hills and as a member of the Northgate Group. She volunteered at the Laurel House at the Ross Art and Garden Center. She is survived by her husband, her children Richard L. Basco and Vicki Basco Marlborough; her grandchildren Sean Basco, Tracy Marlborough, Kim Basco, Richard B. Basco and Mollie McWilliams; her great grandchildren Emily Basco Michaels, Alexander Basco and Blair Basco. A memorial to celebrate her life will be held in December. The date will be announced.

Marjorie was a delightful spirit and she lit up my salon. She always came in with a bright smile and wanted to know who had candy. She loved candy!!! I was touched by her beauty
