MYRON SHORTER Obituary

Myron Lester Shorter, Jr. Myron L. Shorter ("Les), 78 of Bel Marin Keys died at his home December 3, 2010. He was born and raised in Camden, New Jersey. He joined the US Air Force and retired after 20 years at Hamilton with an Honorable Discharge. He is survived by his stepmother Martha Shorter; brother, Michael Shorter; sister, Larue Goodwin; six children, Margaret Deluca, Rose Shorter, Les Shorter (Jr.), Patricia Shorter, Barbie Betz; and Chrystal Eaton; fourteen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. As founder and owner of Western Dock Enterprises, he built the docks at Pier 39 on San Francisco Bay, and received patents for concrete floating devices. Les was an avid ballroom dancer and shared the floor with his lovely wife, Mary Jane ("Jamie") Shorter (deceased) of 42 years in Marin County. He was a water sport enthusiast, and active in the Bel Marin Yacht Club. He was also a snow skier spending many winter weekends with his family at Squaw Valley. He was a member of the Vallejo Moose Lodge. Services will be held at Valley Memorial Park, 650 Bugela Ln., Novato, California on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 11:00 AM.
