RICHARD DICK HALL

Richard "Dick" Hall Born August 23, 1925, died peacefully at home in his sleep June 4, 2011. He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Yvonne, daughters Susan (Lowell) Watson, Nancy (Tom) Carroll and Carol Hall; grandchildren Alex and Nicole Watson, and Sarah Carroll; brother Hugh (Helen) Hall and many nieces and nephews. He grew up in San Francisco, ran track for and graduated from Mission HS after which he was a medic in the Navy, fighting in the Battle of Leyte Gulf. Following the Navy, he trained as an electrician becoming a member of Union Local 6 of Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, working 35 years with the State of California at UC Medical Center. Among his responsibilities was the fire alarm system. During this time, he moved his bride and three girls from Pacifica to Novato, where he lived for the last 48 years. After retiring from the State, he worked another 10 years with Mayer Electric, finding himself back at UC Med Center, still working on the fire alarm system. Richard loved stamp collecting, gardening, his church, supporting his daughters in many activities, and shopping at Novato Safeway. He belonged to SIRS, Novato Garden Club, and his church's various committees. A memorial service will be held this Thursday, June 16, 1:00PM, at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 967 Fifth Street in Novato. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis, American Heart Association, or your favorite charity.
