TAY JOHNSTONE Obituary

Tay Johnstone Age 67, passed away on November 11, 2010 at Stanford Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in San Rafael August 1 1943 to Jane and Bill Johnstone who preceded him in death, Tay is survived by his wife, Patti Nicolai Johnstone, his three children, Molly Keithly (Dennis), Casey Hernandez (Joe) and Jeffrey Johnstone, his brother, Kim Johnstone (Cheryl). Tay will be missed by his grandchildren Shalyn, Jake, Ryan, Adam and Alex and his longtime friend, Bob Phelps. He also leaves nieces and nephews. Tay owned and operated Marin Yard Service for 15 years and was an avid 49er and Giants fan and was thrilled to see the Giants win the World Series. He enjoyed camping at the Russian River, cooking for his family, coaching Novato Youth Baseball and gardening. For many years Tay courageously fought his illness and is now at peace. Please join us for a Celebration of Tay's life on Nov. 20, 2010 at 3:00 at Druids Hall, 801 Grant Ave. Novato. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society 221 Main St. Suite 1650 San Francisco 94131 or your favorite charity. Our family wishes to express our sincere gratitude to the medical staffs at Kaiser and Stanford.
