Kenneth Clary Obituary

Kenneth R. Clary

MARION: Kenneth R. Clary, age 92, of Marion, passed away Friday, April 29, 2016 at Kindred Community after a battle with Alzheimer 's disease. Kenneth was born one of three children in Crown City, Ohio to the late Leslie O. and Nellie (Sheets) Clary on April 3, 1924.

Kenneth was a strong and caring man always putting his family first which was evident with the 61 years he spent with his wife Eileen F. Sullivan. The two meet at a dance in Covent Garden in England while Kenneth was in The US 8th Army-Air Corp during the German Blitz. Kenneth continued to pursue Eileen until the two were married in England and again on April 29, 1946 at St. Mary Church in Marion.

Kenneth worked for Fairfield Engineering for over forty years in various roles and retired as the Controller. Kenneth was an avid golfer where he made many lifelong acquaintances. He also prized his 1940 Dodge and could often be found detailing the inside and out.

Kenneth is survived by sons, Kevan (Carolyn) Clary of Salisbury, NC and Keith Clary of Marion, step-granddaughter, Michelle (Kevin) Turner; brother-in-law, James Wanner; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Leslie and Nellie and wife, Eileen, Kenneth is preceded in death by siblings, Cline Clary and Peggy Wanner.

Visitation for Kenneth will be held Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Gunder/Hall & Snyder Funeral Home from 11AM until 12 PM with a 12 PM funeral service. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in Kenneth's Honor to The American Alzheimer's Association.

It was a pleasure to work with Kenny at Fairfield Engineering Company. He was very well respected for his charm and wit. May God bless you and be there to comfort you with happy memories. He was a very nice co-worker and family man.

My Mom and I would visit with Kenny when we visited my Dad at Kindred. He was always so nice to us and always asked if we ever went to the "hills". He made us laugh. We lost my Dad in December and we are so sorry for your loss also. We were glad to know Kenny in his final years.
