MARSHALL — Darlean Lacy Warren, beloved daughter of Jesse and Catherine Lacy, was born March 12, 1940, in Hallsville, Texas. On July 27, 1963, she married Melvin Purvis Warren. She attended college, obtaining Bachelors and Masters Degrees in English. Darlean dedicated her life to God and to caring for and supporting her family, church, students and community.
Darlean will always be remembered for her generous spirit, poise and style, quiet strength, selfless nature and the ability to see the best in people. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, listening to music and helping others. Darlean was a loving and devoted daughter, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her three sons, Albert, Darryl (Deborah) and Melvin Warren II (Michelle); her five grandchildren, Maurice, Jesse, Tory, Olivia and Tyson Warren; six brothers and sisters, Jessie Lacy (Ella), Doris Williams, Herman Lacy (Hettie), Herbert Lacy, Harvey Lacy (Katie) and Nelda Wright (Lamar); and a host of other family members and friends.
Darlean Lacy left this earth peacefully on June 8, 2011, in Fairfield, California. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2011, at the Sweet Home Church of Christ in Hallsville, Texas. Lewis Funeral Home, 508 E. Bowie St., Marshall, Texas, (903)935-5285, is in charge of arrangements in Texas. Bryan Braker Funeral Home, Fairfield, Calif., www.bryanbraker.com, is in charge of California arrangements.

My heart is very sad as I have lost a very dear friend and neighbor of almost 30 years. Every morning as I look out my kitchen window and see the front of her house I will think of her. I am going to miss my friend. I know she is in a better place and will no longer be ill.
