Gerald A. Cordis

Gerald A. Cordis 1947 - 2013 AVON, CT - Gerald Avery Cordis, 66 of Avon passed away Friday, Oct. 4, 2013 at his home. Jerry was born on April 21, 1947 in Springfield, MA. He was the son of the late Edward C. and Mary E. (Wolcott) Cordis. He was retired from the University of Connecticut Medical Center, Department of Surgeon Research. He was a graduate of Suffield Academy and Trinity College. He was an avid sports fan, especially UCONN and the Boston Red Sox. He is survived by his two brothers, Edward C. Cordis, Jr. of Suffield, CT and William W. Cordis; his sister, Mary Cordis of Suffield, CT and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Monday, October 14, 2013 at 11 AM at the First Church of Christ, 763 Longmeadow St., Long-meadow, MA with burial in the Longmeadow Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospital, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
