I did not know David as a classmate personally, but he graduated in the Class of 1976 at Springfield Township High School and had been recognized as an outstanding senior both in the Honor Society and receiving an award for seniors on 6/14/1976. From what I've read, David as a physician was a caring person to his patients.

Awesome profesional. May he rest in peace

January 13, 2019

I had the privilege of being operated by Dr. Clair...a few times....
I have a rare uterer blockage problem which Dr. Clair performed a pyeloplasty on me. And also took a large kidney stone from the kidney. Profesional level was optimum. Even with my chronic problem. It gave me 20 years of health. And Ironically one of his mentors is now my urologist in New york....
My condolences to his family. May he rest in peace. Amen.

Dr. Clair in his much younger years reminded me of the pediatrician I'd had for 22 years! As he'd gotten older as I can see by this latest photograph, he reminds me of a professional counselor I go to-facially Dr. Clair resembled these 2 men.

Dear Dr Chiapella, June 13th 2017
I was just now informed of Dr Clair's passing and I am so saddened by this. He never failed to put a smile on my face every time he joked that you were going to think he and I had something going on as I woke him so often with calls. He was a fine gentleman and the world is not as bright of a place as it used to be. I will pray for you and your family and know I will always hold you both fondly in my heart. God bless, Janell,( previous employee of your answering service.) If you ever want to just talk call and ask my daughter for my number as she works there now. Her name is Ariel

I became a patient of Dr. Clair fifteen years ago. It was my first encounter with someone who dealt with very serious illnesses as a way of life. I have just learned of Dr. Clair's passing and want to express my sincere condolences to his family. He was my father, Frank DeLucia's, urologist and he treated him with such kindness and skill. My wife Barbara and I are truly saddened with the news of the passing of DR. Clair. After my Transplant at Lehigh Valley he came in and diagnosed my bleeding problems and later performed surgery that repaired the problem. He was an outstanding doctor and person! His smile, humor and fantastic bedside manner made me feel at ease and he was one of the most oustanding doctors I have ever met. Our prayers go out to his wife and son. I will really miss him and was looking forward to see him this April.
May he rest in peace and serve as an inspiration to all doctors. Barb, my son, William and I offer our sincere condolences.

I was deeply saddened to read of Dr. Clair's passing. He was my urologist for years, and was one of my favorite doctors. We shared a similar sense of humor, and he seemed to enjoy jokes I made at my own expense. I always trusted his diagnoses and answers to my questions.

Thanks to Dr. Clair I have my husband, my sons have their father, my grandchildren have their pop pop to be with us every minute of everyday. In March 2007 this wonderful man was the surgeon who saved my husbands life. At our first consultation he told me he was treating my husband the same as he would his father and brother, from that moment on I knew we had an angel sent to us by God. We enjoyed seeing him and his lovely wife at the State Theater events we both attended. Our loss is heavens gain. Our sympathy to his family they will be in my thoughts and prayers everyday.

Dr. Clair was my sister, Cynthia Davis', doctor. Cynthia was a long-term quadriplegic and she saw quite a bit of Dr. Clair in the last eleven years. Dr. Clair was someone she trusted completely and he was also very kind to her. A compassionate and skilled doctor is a real gift to the world. Cynthia died last summer but she would also want me to add her special appreciation of him for his great contributions, not only to her own health and well-being, but to the health of so many people. Our deepest sympathy to the family of Dr.David Clair, you are in our thoughts and prayers. We met Dr Clair almost 20 years ago when he operated on my husband who had cancer. It was a very stressful time for us but Dr Clair helped to reassure us that everything would be fine, and it was. A Reminiscence

YES, thou art gone! and never more
Thy sunny smile shall gladden me;
But I may pass the old church door,
And pace the floor that covers thee.

May stand upon the cold, damp stone,
And think that, frozen, lies below
The lightest heart that I have known,
The kindest I shall ever know.

Yet, though I cannot see thee more,
'Tis still a comfort to have seen;
And though thy transient life is o'er,
'Tis sweet to think that thou hast been;

To think a soul so near divine,
Within a form so angel fair,
United to a heart like thine,
Has gladdened once our humble sphere.

We were so shocked and saddened at the passing of Dr. Clair. He was my husband's urologist for the last 14 years. He sincerely cared about his patients and going for an appointment was like going to see a friend rather than a doctor. He would catch up on the news since our last visit and always put my husband at ease. Words cannot express how much we will miss him. Our deepest sympathy to his family and colleagues for he will truly be missed. We were fortunate to have known him.

What a terrible loss to his family and to the community he served. It has saddened our day to read of his passing. Dr. Clair is responsible for saving my husbands life many years ago by discovering cancer that another doctor failed to inform us on. Last August my husband was in the hospital, what a surprise when Dr. Clair popped in his room to see him. He took almost a half hour out of his busy day to find out why my husband was in the hospital. He brightened our day with his humor and conversation and his utmost caring personality. He was not only my husbands doctor, but almost like a lifelong friend. This is a tragic loss to all who knew and loved him. He was one in a million. There will be a huge void in the medical world. He was a compassionate man who always had time for his patients and their family. Our deepest sympathy to his family.at the sad time May he rest in peace.

To David's family,

Heartfelt sympathy to you for the unbelievably untimely loss of this wonderful man and exemplary physician. We were a year apart at Jefferson, did not know each other then but years later -- now 17 years ago when I came to LVHN -- turns out we recognized each other from way back then. Arriving about the same time every morning, me often just behind his 2BSKIING plated car, or he in my rear view mirror, we walked in together countless times, the urologist and the neurologist. He loved the phrase "dancing with gravity" to describe skiing, and I believe he held that feeling near as he navigated the challenging moguls of doctoring and of living. Over the years, I came to look forward to seeing him first thing in the morning, as I found him to be a kind, wry and thoughtful person who always left me smiling and savoring an observation he'd shared. Doctors have a special insight into their colleagues through what mutual patients say about them. Without exception, David's patients thought the world of him and shared with me many kindnesses that, knowing him, I'm certain he'd have preferred had been left unsaid. I know I speak for many colleagues who shared my utmost respect and affection for David as a doctor's doctor, a man who wholeheartedly embraced the fullness of life, thought globally, a truly good guy. I am grateful to have known him. My heart goes out to his family, that he clearly cherished. David made an indelible mark for the better in countless lives. He will be deeply missed, and always remembered. May David ski forevermore! He will never cease to be an inspiration. Hiis was a life very well lived.

We were shocked and extremely sadden to hear the news of the loss of this wonderful man. Dr. Clair was the most kind and caring doctor you could ever be blessed to have. Our deepest sympathy to his family. We will always be grateful for the wonderful care he gave Paul. We will never forget him!

My husband was one of Dr. Clair's patients. We both loved him. He was such a warm & caring person. He will be missed by many. Our thoughts are with his family. What a loss to humanity. Sigh.

Find the right words to explain how I felt about Dr. Clair is next to impossible. He was a wonderful person who I had met many years ago and then had the honor and privilege to work for. We always use to trade stories about our dogs and I remember how he would laugh and how he made me laugh. The world will not be the same without DLC. My deepest sympathy to Carla, Aaron, and his entire family including the USLV family who held him so dear in their hearts. DLC, until we all meet again, please look over us and keep us safe. You will always be in my heart.

It is with great sadness to hear of Dr. Clair's death. I have been a patient of his for 4 yeas. As my Dr., he was genuinely dedicated to his patient, and made you at ease at all times. He was a very jovial, witty and funny person as I knew him (outside his Dr. role). He not only cared about you medically, but also person to person. Our common interest was cruising, and with great interest we would discuss each others plans. I will miss him greatly, as I know all his patients will. To his family, may God's Blessings and Mercy be upon you in this time of sorrow.

Such a tragedy. Dr. Clair operated on me for Bladder Cancer 20 years ago and saved my life.
Lana & I saw him in January and talked about the operation, the snow storm and the fact that he was 37 years old then.
Thanks to him I have been able to see my family grow. I now have 6 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was a very special person. We will miss him.
God bless his family.
Rest in Peace Dr. Clair.

Our deepest sympathy to you and your family for the loss of this most wonderful man. We are still in shock. Dr Clair was the best and most caring of doctors. He had such a love of life, a love for his family, and a love for his patients. I will truly, truly miss him. God bless you and your family at such a very sad time.

I was shocked and saddened to read of David's passing. I recently saw him and, as always, he was full of energy and passion. He has been my doctor for the past 15 years but also my friend. My appointments with him would invariably go on for 30 minutes, most of which was entirely unrelated to my visit and was simply friends catching up. My sincere condolences to his family on the loss of a wonderful and warm man. I will miss him. Nat Hyman
