James Kneiss Obituary

James C. Kneiss Sr., 90, of Hellertown, passed away on August 5, 2017. He was the husband of the late Grace (Meilinger) Kneiss. Born in Center Valley, he was a son of late Joseph and Cecelia (Szipf) Kneiss. He served his county honorably the Navy during WWII. He worked as a mechanic and field service representative for Giles & Ransome Inc. in Allentown for 30 years, retiring in 1990. Prior to that he worked for the Glascow Company for several years. He was a member of the Edward H. Ackerman Post 397 of the American Legion in Hellertown and was a Life Member of the VFW. He was also a member of the Spring Valley Sportsman Club. Survivors: a brother, Lawrence of Center Valley; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, James Jr. who died in 2002, and siblings: Frank, Rose, Anna, Mary, Theresa, Joseph, Stephen, John, Michael, Albert, and Robert. Services: Viewing 10:30 to 11:00 AM, Wednesday, Falk Funeral Home, 1418 Main St., Hellertown, PA 18055, services 11:00 AM. Interment, Hellertown Union Cemetery with military honors.
