Barry Hamer Obituary
Barry Hamer, 88, of Bethlehem and formerly of Little Neck, NY, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2011, at Manor Care in Bethlehem. Married in June of 1952, he was the husband of Yolanda (Lieberman) Hamer for over 57 years. Born in Eastern Europe, he was the son of the late Isaac and Sarah Hamer. Barry was a self employed kosher butcher in Brooklyn, NY. He was a member of Brith Sholom in Bethlehem, and he was also a member of the Marathon Jewish Center in Little Neck, NY for many years. Survivors: wife; daughter, Sharon Blaufarb and her husband Ron of Bethlehem; son, Joseph Hamer and his wife Pamela of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Andrew, Allison and Rachel Blaufarb and David Hamer; brother Harvey Hamer and his wife Thelma of Plainview, NY. Services: Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at 10 a.m. in the Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem. Burial will follow at Floral Park Cemetery, 104 Deans Rhode Hall Road, Monmouth Junction, NJ. Shiva will be sat at 4612 Greenfield Road, Bethlehem on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6-9 p.m. Online condolences may be made at www.longfuneralhome.com.
