Joyce Roth Obituary
Joyce J. Roth, 87, of Allentown, passed away Monday, June 10, 2013. She was the wife of the late Kenneth E. Roth. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late George and Elma (Fenstermacher) Kern. Joyce graduated with high honors from South Whitehall H.S. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Allentown, where she knitted prayer shawls and lap blankets to be donated. Joyce enjoyed gardening and reading and loved her animals. Survivors: Sons: David A. Roth and his wife Barbara of Richburg, SC, Barry P. Roth and his wife Patricia of Hershey, John K. Roth of Florida; daughter: Melody S. McGill of Allentown; brother: George Kern of Florida; grandchildren: 11; great-grandchildren: 14. Joyce was predeceased by a great-grandson. Services: 1 p.m., Saturday, Calvary Baptist Church, 4601 Tilghman St., Allentown 18104. Call noon to 1 p.m., Saturday in the church. Interment, Highland M.P. Oh Joyce, how we will miss you! You were the best boss I have ever had. Many years have passed since the Whitehall Mall Record Shop ( Music Scene) but you helped to shape me as a person and I will always be grateful to you. Many years of yoga class at Kernsville Elementary were beneficial in keeping us fit and mentally alert as you remained all these years. You raised wonderful children and they will have beautiful lifetime memories of you.
