Brunner, Jr., August E.August E. Brunner, Jr., 86, of Pleasant Valley, died Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Weston Health Care, Lower Saucon Twp. He is the husband of Mary M. (Mitchell) Brunner. He was born in Allentown on November 10, 1929 to the late August E. and Dorothy A. (DeHart) Brunner. Gus served our country faithfully in the US Army during Korean War in the 3623rd Ordinance of the MM Company. He owned and operated August E. Brunner Insurance Company, Pleasant Valley until retiring and previously he worked for the Food Fair Markets for 30 years as a produce manager. Gus is a 50 year member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church where he was the Financial Secretary; Springfield Twp. Lions Club - 40 year; Past President; twice Melvin Jones Fellowship Award; Vice Governor (2 terms) for District 14A; Springfield Twp. Historical Society; Ice Cream Collecting Club, American Jukebox Society, Christmas Valley Beamers. Gus was a life-member of the Springtown Rod and Gun Club; past Democratic Committee Chairman for Springfield Twp. Survivors: In addition to his loving wife of 34 years; sister: Louise E. Maczura of Hellertown; nieces and nephews. Services: Family and friends are invited to call 10 - 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2170 Route 212 (Pleasant Valley) Coopersburg, followed by the service at 11 a.m. The interment will conclude services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Springfield Twp.
