George Glueck Obituary

George J. Glueck, 81, of Macungie, died on Wednesday, December 23, 2015. He was born November 13, 1934; the son of the late George and Marian (Gross) Glueck. George was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, MaryLouise "Gail" Glueck in May of 2000. George proudly served in the US Navy from 1953 to 1958 and was a graduate of Lafayette College. George worked as an Engineer for Bell Labs, Western Electric and AT&T from 1963 until his retirement in 1994. George was a parishioner of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church. One of his great joys was coaching youth sports. He started coaching CYO wrestling and football and later was an assistant coach and statistician for the Bethlehem Catholic football team. He was especially proud of being a part of the 1988 and 1990 Becahi state championship teams. George was also an avid hunter and fisherman and was an excellent bowler, having bowled two "perfect games". Survivors: George will be dearly missed by his children, Susan Glueck of Bethlehem; George Glueck, Jr. of Lehighton; Robert Glueck of Nazareth; Lawrence Glueck, husband of Lynn of Coopersburg and Steven Glueck, husband of Joanne of Douglasville; his sisters, Maryann Thee, wife of the late Nicholas Thee of Lansdale and Helen Kerr, wife of Forrest of Colmar and brothers, James Glueck, husband of Ursula of Arizona and Lawrence Glueck, husband of Kathleen of Massachusetts; 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Services: A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 10-11 a.m. at The Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 with a service to immediately follow in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery. Contributions: Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association 968 Postal Road, Suite 110 Allentown, PA 18109 and/or World Wildlife Fund, 1250 Twenty-Fourth Street, N.W. P.O.
