DAVID BRUCE Obituary
David G. Bruce passed away on Monday, November 1, 2010 at the age of 64, with his loving family at his side at home.
David was born September 26, 1946 in Los Angeles, CA to Hubert and Miriam Bruce. David was a long time resident in Merced and had just retired after working for Ingomar in Los Banos for 27 years. He was an avid trap shooter, enjoyed cutting hair as a barber, and was just taking up tooling leather for a hobby. He also liked to fish and do odd end jobs with his friends. He was a generous person who was always doing things for others which made him loved by many. Anyone who knew him remembers how much he liked to tell and share jokes.He was preceded in death by his father Hubert Bruce.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Linda S. Bruce, his mother Miriam Bruce, his daughter Tiffany Bruce, and his son Darren Bruce. He also leaves behind his brother Lynn Bruce, sister-in-law Linda A. Bruce, his niece Deidre Johnson, and nephew Scott Bruce.
The funeral service will take place on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home located at 1490 B Street, Merced, CA 95341.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home.

The stories we could tell of a man with a wonderful sense of humor and a very positive attitude("this is not a problem but an opportunity)." Even in the face of death he had the right attitude. "It is my time and I want it to be what I consider quality time." May your memories be the key to helping you through this very hard time. Please know there are people who are more then willing to talk about Dave or listen about Dave anytime you feel like it. Take care of each other and laugh, Dave would have wanted it that way!

Dave and I were two of the original hires at Ingomar so I have had the pleasure of knowing him for 27 years. I will never forget his happy disposition and warm smile. We are all so lucky to have known him!

Linda, Tiff & Darren, I pray that our Lord will comfort you with His Peace, surround you with His Love and encourage you with His Presence. It is so hard to understand the reasons why.......? We are grieving along with you, for David's passing. Oh how I wish he would have been able to enjoy some "retirement" time. I have great memories of him, what a great cousin to have had. We know he's dancing in heaven, visiting with Uncle Hubert and others. Free from any more sickness. I pray that God is your strength to get thru these next days, months and years ahead.
