BETTY SPECK Obituary
She went to be with the Lord on September 12, 2010 in Merced, CA. She was born Feb 10, 1933 in Burchard Nebraska. She was known as Grandma Betty. She also loved to have family and friends always around. Betty was welcomed into loving arms by her husband, Robert H. Speck and her granddaughter Bobbie Jean Speck.
She was survived by her son and daughter Robert E. Speck, Sharon Cotter, husband John Cotter and her adopted daughter Fely Cayme-Adrias, husband Herdon Adrias, of Merced, and Step daughter Ada Pool of Oklahoma. Her sister Shirley & Joe Reis of Atwater have been such a big part of her life. Shirley is now the last child of 10. She is also survived by her grandchildren Tabitha Speck, Dorie Bryant, Kristine Souza and Jeff Cotter, Brian Adrias, her great-grandchildren Brandon and Ashley Speck, Joseph and Cynthia Goulart, Micheal Pacheco and Bethany Speck, Great-great-grandchildren Paige Speck, Addison Speck and MaryJane Goulart, all of Merced. As well as, all of her nieces and nephews.
Betty was a school car driver for the deaf & hard of hearing in 1965 up until 1970. In 1970, M.C.O.E. opened a deaf and hard of hearing program in Merced. She was the first teacher's aid. She finally retired in 2007 after working for 42 years. Betty was a loving and caring mother as well as a caring grandma, great-grandma and Great-great grandma. She loved to travel when she could. Betty will always be remembered.
The Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 16, at 2 pm till 8pm at Ivers and Alcorn Funeral Home 901 W. Main and the funeral will be held on September 17, 2010 at Faith Mission Ministries, 18th & P St. in Merced, at 11 am.
In Leiu of flowers donations may be sent to American Cancer Society.

Our hearts go out to Betty's family. She was the teachers aid in Feli class. My daughter Stacie loved her and Feli both. She always welcomed me and my family with big open arms full of love and life. Sharon my prayers are with you and your whole family. Your mother was an awesome person inside and out. She impacted my daughter's Ashley life with her love and teachings at Peterson Elem. She was an inspiration to me, my daughter, and all that knew her. She touched everyone with her love and smile. I thank you and your family for sharing your mother with us all. My heart goes out to Sharon, Feli, Robert and their families. Betty was a special person. I was so happy to spend time with her at Carol Lee's retirement. Betty will be missed, she is an angel to watch over us now.

Words cannot describe the saddness we feel hearing about Betty's passing. She was such a big influence in Stephanie's life and we will never forget the kindness and love she gave to us all.
