JEAN CRAWFORD Obituary

1937 ~ 2010

Jean was born in Las Cruces, New Mexico on Oct. 19, 1937. Jean's mother died when she was 21 months old and Jean came to Chowchilla to live with her grandparents, T.W. and Ida Stevens. Jean attended grammar school in Chowchilla and graduated from Chowchilla High School in 1956.

Jean married James (Sonny) Crawford in 1955 and stayed in Chowchilla to finish high school while Sonny returned to Alaska to finish his two-year tour of duty with the U.S. Army. Upon Sonny's death in 2001, Jean moved to Henderson, NV. Jean recently moved back to Chowchilla.

Jean is survived by one daughter, Kelli Brandner and her husband Pat, of Las Vegas, NV and one son, Jimmy Crawford of Louisiana, also three aunts, Willeta Clayton and Lois Drury of Madera and Modena Collins of Chino, and her sister-in-law, Annie Crawford of Merced, Brother -in-law Roy Dow and many, many cousins who will miss her dearly.

Graveside services will be held Friday, Sept.24, 2010, at 1 p.m. at the Chowchilla Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Palm Memorial Worden Chapel of Chowchilla.

Jean was a loving and caring person. She was like a mother to our daughter Mary Beth, and our son-in-law Russ. Her kindness and caring ways will be remembered forever. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time.
