Georgina Martin Obituary

Georgina Martin

Resident of San Jose

Dec. 3, 1949-Nov. 22, 2010

Gina died peacefully in her sleep after a long illness on November 22. She was the loving mother of Jenny, Lorna, Gregg, and Matt. Grandma "Gigi" to Nino, Mitchell, Sasha, and Jack. Adored sister of Rod, Bonnie, Michael, David, and Steven. Beloved daughter of George and Bernice Pappas. Gina was a loving and faithful friend to many. Her gift was in nursing and caring for her patients was her passion. She helped us to learn how to sustain human caring, dignity, and humanity itself.

Never did someone live that cared more deeply for the happiness of others than Gina. Even while in considerable pain every day, she faced her life with courage and an absolute love for life. Please join us as we say goodbye and celebrate our "Bella Donna" on Saturday, December 4 at 2:00 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Morgan Hill.

Gina my Dear Friend, YOU will truly be missed. We were brought together as soccer parents and remained friends even after our boys grew apart. Even when our life's got busy we still remembered each other on our birthdays. Today is your birthday and my Dear Friend I wish you a Happy Birthday. You are at peace now and no more suffering. You will live on within your children. Love You my Friend!

Gina was my mentor and friend at the call center. When I first started at the call center 11 years ago as an advice nurse I observed the way Gina gave advice and treated her patients with the utmost respect and kindness. She gave her all to each patient to make sure what they called for they received. Even when she wasn't feeling well or was having trouble breathing she made sure the patient came first. She handled each call with a smile in her voice. I learned alot from you my dear friend. I loved the way you noticed little things about people that no one else noticed. You always had a positive remark for others about their new hairdo, clothes, jewlery, etc. You also where an expert at reading peoples feelings and their body language. You knew when something was wrong and you were always there to listen...May God watch over you and your family Gina..I'll see you in heaven some day.
